As a STEP student at Merck
STEP stands for Student Excellence Program. It's our way of providing special support and attention to above-average students. Through STEP, we support vocational
trainees or interns who stand out as a result of their accomplishments throughout the duration of their studies– with the
aim being to convince them to rejoin Merck as an employee!
We invest in dedicated employees at an early stage by using different offers to promote their personal and professional further
development and to strengthen their methodological and social skills through:

Regular meetings between the STEP participants and their advisors

Invitations to internal meetings

Annual get-togethers of all STEP students

Distribution of info material

Invitations to various seminars and interview training events

Support when purchasing technical literature and taking part in trade shows

Preferred status of STEP students when hiring for internships or working student positions, or when assigning topics for master’s theses and doctoral dissertations.
